Kathmandu has changed since I was last here, it’s dirtier, noisier and more polluted, but still you can get all your trekking gear for pennies. village when a cultural festival was taking place. Locals were dressed in traditional costume and there was a real party atmosphere. We also got to see the ghats where the cremation ceremony of a ‘high caste Nepali’ was taking place – fascinating tradition surrounding this and an added bonus was that we got to hang out with some fairly spaced out Sadhus, one of whom was naked – niiiccce!
