As there were no flights direct from Newcastle to Seville, we decided to fly to Amsterdam then on to Seville.
Seville is a beautiful city, very easy to walk around, with tapas bars on every corner, and thankfully the temperature had dropped from 42° which it was the week before.
We had a lovely hotel in the heart of the old city, and there were several places to eat and drink within 20 metres of the hotel.
Rather than swap cities we decided to just catch the train to Cordoba for the day.

Seville

Day 1
today was a walk to the Arco de La Macarena, Torre del los Perdigones and the city walls. We then headed back into the centre past Hércules Towers, the Metropole parasol, and Iglesias de la Annuciation.

Day 2
today we headed to the cathedral, the Giralda, Torre del Oro, Plaza, de Toros, , then to Plaza Nueva, followed by El Salvador. Many pit stops were needed plus life giving Helados

Day 3
today was a later start, we headed off to the plaza España which is very static, then walked through the gardens to the Alcázar. We then headed along the river and back into the old town with a little bit of retail therapy on the way back.

Cordoba

A 9.30 train was booked but we were a bit worried if it would arrive due to the flooding in Madrid, it did and we arrived in Cordoba on time.
A quick breakfast enroute to Cathedral perked us up. The place was crawling with police and many roads in old town were closed to traffic. It became evident there was both a visiting dignitary and also a demonstration by farmers.
After Cathedral we made it into Alcazar with a minute to spare and it was worth it.
We had lunch in a very local bodega and very nice it was too.
