We also now have a new addition to the family, a working cocker spaniel called Ruby. She loves the Lake District, probably more than Jesmond due to the freedom she has there. Paul is spending quite a bit of time training her so that hopefully she will be able to accompany him shooting when the season begins. Its fun watching her grow up but also quite frightening, like the time she decided to jump the whole length of a cattle grid or when she was chasing a butterfly and jumped straight into the river. In the meantime she’s loving the walking in the Lakes and the post walk refreshments, so if she doesn’t turn out to be the best gun dog she will be the best walking and drinking companion…..
